The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to accomplish what the LAW could not do and that is make us holy. In decades past, the baptism in the Holy Spirit was called the blessing, because it is indeed a life-transforming blessing from above.The baptism in the Holy Spirit is nothing if it is not an immersion into God’s presence. The Holy Spirit is the One who changes us and fills us, but Jesus is the One who sends Him. Jesus is the One who baptizes us in the Holy Spirit. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
If he does not, he is likely to miss heaven after all. Yet who can deny that they received the Spirit only at Pentecost? And if this was so with them, how can we suppose there is any other way now of becoming fit for service? Each individual must have his own Pentecost. Were not the apostles all children of God before Pentecost? Did they not all have the forgiveness of their sins? Surely. Of all these expressions, the one that heads this chapter is ever given the most prominent place, and it is triumphantly alleged, with no possibility of serious refutal, that in this at least we certainly have what to many in the beginning of this dispensation was a blessing received after having been born again. 1:4) nothing can.It is remarkable how many expressions from the Scriptures, of diverse and widely differing meanings, are pressed into service by the perfectionists to support their views, and supposed by them to be synonymous with the Apostle Paul’s “second benefit.” We have already examined some of them, and shown they have no reference whatever to the theory of the eradication of inbred sin at some time subsequent to conversion.
In Matthew 3:11-12, John the Baptizer said that Jesus was coming to baptize with the Holy Spirit and with fire.Luke’s account is the fullest of all. In the same way, that fire dwells in the Spirit, the Spirit also dwells in fire, for God is But, lets look a little further into the matter. The Holy Spirit brings peace and joy the fire consumes one’s own life and causes pain. One cannot exist if the other is excluded. You can’t separate the Holy Spirit and the fire.
The promise of the Father had been fulfilled. From this point on, that is from Acts 2, we never hear again of this baptism as something to be waited for, prayed for, or expected. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to. In referring to the coming appearance of Jesus the Messiah, John the Baptist gave the following words. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit baptizes people with fire.

There was never another Pentecost recognized in the church.
So it is easy to see the wisdom of God in thus visibly and openly uniting the converts of Samaria with those of Jerusalem.One exceptional instance remains that recorded in Acts 19. 22Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 21Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 20Our fathers worshipped in this mountain and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. The Jews and Samaritans had maintained rival religious systems and temples for hundreds of years, and the contention was very bitter between them (see John 4:19-22 19The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Spend some time letting go of things that may be troubling you or causing anxiety.In Acts 8 the word of life overleaps Jewish boundaries and goes to the Samaritans, who are obliged to wait till two apostles come from Jerusalem before they receive the Spirit — “that there should be no schism in the body.” These ancient enemies of the Jews must not think of two churches, or two bodies of Christ, but of one hence the interval between their conversion and the reception of the Spirit upon the laying on of the apostles’ hands.
The indwelling Spirit is the Spirit of adoption, “whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” It is therefore impossible to be a child of God and not have the Spirit. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. They too are added to the body, and the transitional state had come to an end.If any have Him not, they are none of Christ’s ( Rom. 8:9 9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
(Romans 8:11‑17)23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. 16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17And if children, then heirs heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 13For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 12Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
20Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? (John 2:18‑20)).
